Things to do
To enjoy Redcliffs fully a visitor needs to have basic snorkelling ability as the sea around the property is rich in marine life and is a haven for many fish species which use the coves and rock formation as a breeding ground. Fish such as Paraw, Katta, Angel Fish, Parrot Fish, Godaya are common in the bays as well as sightings of squid in mating colours.

The rocks and cliff at the water’s edge have been carved by the action of the waves creating caves and crevices, home to many species of fish and invertebrates. Every day is a different experience in this undersea world. December to April are the months where the visibility is best for snorkelling.

The close proximity to the harbour gives opportunity to a host of sea going activities as well as around the bay, whale and dolphin watching being the most popular from November to April.

In the vicinity are also many places of interest that allow for day trips to snoop around the area discovering the mystic deep south of Sri Lanka. Nature and wildlife are also a speciality of the south with the ability to visit the wild and return to civilization at dusk.

Take a safari up river from Weligama Bay and enjoy the flora and fauna of Sri Lanka along the inland water way.

Nearby Galle is a place of culture and colonial heritage not to be missed. The Dutch Fort is a total walk through experience of colonial heritage that would fill up an entire morning for someone who would cherish going back in time.

An Activity tariff is available for things to do whilst at Redcliffs, where we have carefully identified suitable service providers, who will reliably deliver a satisfying experience.
